Launched in 2007, the Hwa Chong Science Students' Research Council (SSRC) is a student body representing science research in Hwa Chong, encompassing SRP, NRP as well as CenTaD. Working closely with the school administration, the SSRC has been highly active in the initiation and organization of activities for fellow science research students, such as the highly successful International Science Youth Forum @ Singapore (ISYF@SG) in 2009, 2010 and 2011, the Young Scientists’ Experiential Camp (YSEC) in 2009 and 2010, as well as the SSEF Peer Judging Sessions since 2008.

The SSRC embodies a community of closely knit research students who partake activities on a school-wide, regional and international basis. It is only possible to do the above if the Council expands her connections with fellow research students by creating a closely-knit community of science students who are both passionate towards their research work as well as organizing research-related activities for their peers who share similar interests.
